Flag Requests

The United States flag is a living symbol of the principles of our great country -- liberty and justice for all. Senator Hutchison would be pleased to obtain for Texans a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol building. Whether for personal use or to commemorate a special occasion, the significance of this flag will be long appreciated. With several weeks notice, a United States flag can be flown over the U.S. Capitol Building on the date you specify. In order to efficiently process such a request, please note the following guidelines. Before a U.S. flag can be flown over the Capitol, it must be purchased. Therefore, in order to process your request, we must receive a check or money order for the complete amount made payable to "The Keeper of the Stationery," along with a completed flag request form:

The Flag Request Form is available in 2 versions:
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the PDF file

Please mail the check and form to the following address:

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
(ATTN: FLAGS)
284 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510-4304

Note: We are unable to process any flag requests that occur after January 2, 2013. Senator Hutchison will retire at the end of her term, January 2, 2013. For flag requests after that date you can contact Texas Senator John Cornyn or the newly elected Senator who will take office on January 2, 2013.

Due to mail security procedures in the Senate, please allow at least three weeks for delivery of your request to our office. Once the flag is flown over the Capitol, allow an additional 6-10 weeks for delivery. If no specific fly date is requested, flags will be flown on the first available date, usually within two weeks of receiving your request. In order to process your request in a timely manner, please limit your order to THREE flags. If you would like to request more than three flags, please contact the Senator's Washington office at 202-224-5922. We regret that due to the volume of requests, as well as budget constraints, our office is unable to donate flags. If you have questions regarding a flag request you have already submitted, you can e-mail us at flags@hutchison.senate.gov.
