Congressman Al Green’s Statement on the Attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya and the Turmoil around U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt

Sep 12, 2012

“I am profoundly saddened by the deadly attacks on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya and the turmoil around the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of Ambassador John Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, and the two other American diplomats killed in the Benghazi attack. We should take this time to honor and commend our fellow Americans in the Foreign Service, who risk their lives serving our country as well as assisting in the spread of freedom around the globe.”
