Why I voted Yes on H.R. 6371, the Streamlining Claims Processing for Federal Contractor Employees Act.

The bill would transfer the authority to process wage claims adjustments for federal contractor employees from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to the Department of Labor.  The Department of Labor and GAO agree that Labor should be responsible for processing these claims, as it already processes violations of labor laws and other employment grievances.  This legislation would help ensure less redundancy and more efficiency in the federal government.

The bill was approved by a vote of 361 – 3.
