Exercise your right as Americans to vote by 8:00PM November 6th

Nov 5, 2012

Dear Friend,

I want to take this important opportunity to remind you that tomorrow, Tuesday November 6th, is the General Election voting day. It is your right as Americans to vote.  No matter who you vote for, I encourage you to take the time to practice your civic duty and make your voice heard by getting out and voting. You can find your nearest polling place here.

Even if you have registered to vote by mail, you can change your mind and vote at a polling place on Election Day. To do so, you can bring the ballot in a sealed envelope to any polling place in your county, or to your county elections office between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. You can also bring your unused vote-by-mail ballot to your local polling place anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day and give it to a poll worker, who will exchange it for a polling place ballot you can use instead.

If you have any additional questions about where or how to vote, please feel free to call my office at (209) 579-5458. I also encourage you to visit the California Secretary of State’s Voting in California website (www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-in-california), where you can find your polling place and learn what to expect on Election Day. You can also learn more about your rights and responsibilities as a voter, find answers to your questions about elections and voting and get informed about the issues on the next statewide election ballot.

Free and fair elections are critical to our democracy. If you witness or suspect election fraud, you can contact the California Secretary of State Elections Division at 1(800) 345-VOTE.

It is your right as Americans to vote. No matter who you vote for, I encourage you to take the time to practice your civic duty and vote on November 6th.

Sincerely,

JEFF DENHAM
