Representative Yoder Announces 2012 Service Academy Nominations

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Kevin Yoder (R-KS) today announced the 2012 Service Academy Nominations of the following Kansans from the 3rd Congressional District. The Academy Nomination Board for the 3^rd District, appointed by Congressman Yoder, conducted interviews with the applicants. After their applications and test scores were reviewed, twenty-six students were recommended for nomination. Now that they have been nominated by Congressman Yoder, the applicants must meet the requirements of each U.S. Service Academy. The Academies then make the final decision on who receives an appointment of admission. U.S. Service Academy appointments will be made this spring for the class entering summer 2013.

Yoder said. “The caliber of these nominees is impressive, and once again our district will be very well represented. These young men and women represent the highest degree or service to our country, and their desire to enter a U.S. Service Academy is to be greatly admired.
