Services address readiness subcommittee
Vice Chief of Staff Gen. William M. Fraser III, along with his counterparts from the Army, Navy and Marines, addressed the House Armed Services Committee's Subcommittee on Readiness May 20. During the hearing General Fraser addressed fiscal 2010 Operation and Maintenance Budget requests. He also discussed how 18 years of continuous combat deployments have strained Air Force readiness and how current fiscal realities required difficult decisions to balance the force. General Fraser emphasized that Airmen's efforts and the programs funded within the fiscal 2010 budget will help ensure the Air Force is ready to execute its missions with precision and reliability.
