The President Can't Stop Spending

President Barack Obama has a spending problem. He's run decifits of more than a trillion dollars every year he's been in office, even when he pledged to cut deficits in half by the end of his first term. He has pushed our nation past 16 trillion dollars in debt -- a depressing milestone.

Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released a video today detailing lavish spending on White House state dinners. An event for Mexico's president ran a tab of almost 1 million dollars. Watch:

To put things in perspective, the House Republican Study Committee released a video this week showing how much debt a family would incur if they spent as irresponsibly and unsustainably as the federal goverment does today:

“I’ve said many times that I believe the single, biggest threat to our national security is our debt, so I also believe we have every responsibility to help eliminate that threat.”

-Adm. Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

It's time you start taking our national debt seriously, Mr. President.
