Last night I announced the winners of the inaugural 13th Congressional District Fire & Rescue and EMS Awards on Monday evening. To be a first responder is a demanding profession that requires sacrifice, courage and a dedication to serve others. Every day, brave men and women put themselves in harm’s way to protect our citizens, property and society. They deserve our gratitude and respect.
