Here is our week at a glance:

Tuesday – “What’s Your Veteran Connection?” Share who the Veterans are in your life, how they served and how much you appreciate them.

Wednesday – Freebie Day! Many area businesses offer free meals, discounts and more to former and current military personnel on Veterans Day. We will share a few and where to find more.

Thursday – Learn about a new initiative at ARVets helping to employ Arkansas Veterans called Veterans to Law Enforcement.

Friday – Debunk Myths Day! With so much information out there on Veteran resources, on Friday ARVets will clarify common misconceptions and connect Veterans with the appropriate resources they need.

Letter from the CEO
Nicole S. Hart

Dear ,

For 58 years, America’s Veterans have been honored on November 11th for their service and sacrifice to protect our freedoms and our nation. ARVets recognizes our Arkansas heroes every day of the year as we seek to enhance the overall quality of life for military personnel, Veterans and their families by improving access to resources and strengthening support systems through all phases of the military life cycle. Our programs and services are client centered and focus on meeting the Veteran where they are.

Each day this week stay connected with us on Facebook and our website by sharing your Veteran stories, learning more about ARVets’ programs and helping bring awareness to the life challenges our Veterans face. ARVets is the most comprehensive non-profit Veterans’ organization in Arkansas, providing clients with a one-stop shop for any problem they may be facing. We have no wrong door, only care and support for those often in critical need.

Many of the Veterans and families we reach through our programs and services have not previously heard of ARVets. When they realize that help is available to them through ARVets, and through various channels in their community, they regain some degree of power over their situation and enjoyment of their life. This support leads to reduced stress, better behavioral and physical health, and the quality of family life often improves. Help us connect more Veterans and families with this assistance by participating in Help AR Heroes Week. We thank you in advance for your commitment to ARVets and Arkansas Veterans.

Respectfully,

Nicole Hart
