Bono is headed to Washington. The U2 frontman is one of the many ultra-VIP guests slated to attend next week’s inaugural Hero Summit, a ceremony billed as a way to “pay tribute to America’s deep tradition of service.” While he’s in town, the “Mysterious Ways” singer is also poised to give a talk at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business on Monday. Other celebrities and lawmakers who will be joining the swank affair hosted by Newsweek editor-in-chief Tina Brown: “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin, Gen. David Petraeus, Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.), Adm. William McRaven, White House social secretary Jeremy Bernard, Rep. Susan Davis (D-Calif.), fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, “CBS This Morning” anchor Charlie Rose, Pulitzer Prize winner Nicholas Kristof, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Rep. David Axelrod on Thursday suggested a charity where Donald Trump can send the $5 million he offered in exchange for President Obama's college records and passport application. Obama's senior campaign strategist taunted Trump on Twitter, saying the Obama campaign had "saved" him $5 million.

It’s Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad’s (R) party, but he’ll let Sen. Marco Rubio be the star, if he wants to. The Florida Republican will “headline” Branstad’s birthday fundraiser next Saturday in Iowa, according to a Twitter message posted Thursday by Rubio’s press secretary, Alex Conant. Branstad is turning 66 that day.

On Wednesday, the day after the election, the Park Hyatt in Georgetown released the ooey gooey results of its presidential cheese-off between Obama and GOP candidate Mitt Romney.

Pop superstar Beyoncé, who hasn’t been shy about her support for President Obama, posted a message on her Tumblr, Facebook and Instagram accounts that poked fun at GOP candidate Mitt Romney’s loss in the presidential election.
A photo of a handwritten note that reads, “Take That Mitches” appeared on the “Love on Top” singer’s accounts on Tuesday night. The phrase is a play on a PG-13-rated taunt that includes the “b” word.
