Brig. Gen. Mark C. "Marshal" Dillon is the Director, Regional Affairs, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. He manages the Air Force's direct liaison with foreign government officials, Washington agency counterparts, and representatives of the aerospace industry to implement Air Force security cooperation programs, particularly the sale of Air Force military equipment to foreign governments. The Regional Affairs Directorate provides analysis and advice to senior leaders on current politico-military affairs and their impact on the Air Force.
General Dillon was commissioned in 1984 through Officer Training School. He began his career as a space shuttle systems engineer. A distinguished graduate from undergraduate pilot training, General Dillon has commanded the 22nd Airlift Squadron at Travis Air Force Base, Calif.; 782nd Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, the first C-5 combat deployment into Afghanistan; 97th Operations Group, Altus AFB, Okla.; the 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis AFB, Calif. and the 86th Airlift Wing, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. His staff assignments include: Headquarters U.S. Air Force, U.S. Transportation Command liaison to U.S. Southern Command and his current position. General Dillon is a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours in the KC-10, C-5, T-38, C-17, C-130J and KC-135.
