William H. Booth Sr., a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Reserve Affairs), Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Manpower and Reserve Affairs), the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. where he is responsible for coordinating, planning and establishing AF policy for the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve and Civil Air Patrol. He also provides guidance and oversight for all matters pertaining to the formulation, review, and execution of AF Manpower and Organization actions and Program/Budget issues within the Assistant Secretary's portfolio. Additionally, he serves as the Department of Defense Executive Agent for the National Science Foundation Antarctica Program/Operation Deep Freeze. Prior to his selection for this position, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Force Management Integration).

Mr. Booth was commissioned a second lieutenant in June 1973 through the Georgia Institute of Technology's ROTC program. He entered active duty in September 1973 as a management engineering officer assigned to Detachment 2, 3025th Management Engineering Squadron, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. During the next 28 years, Mr. Booth served in a wide variety of positions of increasing responsibility at wing, major command, unified and Air Force headquarters levels. In 2002 he retired from active duty in the rank of colonel and became a Senior Level executive serving as the Headquarters U.S. Air Force Senior Adviser, Manpower and Organization, in January 2002. He assumed his current position in April 2012.
