Gail P. Forest, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director, Plans and Programs, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She is responsible for developing and managing the processes that define AFRL's $2 billion annual investment in technologies for future Air Force systems. These systems include space, weapons, aeronautics, command and control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

Ms. Forest began her career as a manufacturing engineer with Buick Motor Division, General Motors Corporation. In 1982, she entered federal civil service as an engineer in the Maintenance Directorate at Headquarters Air Force Logistics Command. She has held numerous engineering, logistics, and acquisition program management positions.

Prior to her current assignment, Ms. Forest was AFRL's Associate Director for Air Platforms. In that position, she was responsible for the corporate integration of hypersonic, fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft technologies throughout the Air Force science and technology portfolio.
