Eleven years ago, our nation was attacked by Osama bin Laden and his followers. Al Qaeda thought this attack would bring our country to its knees, instead it brought us together and made us remember the fortitude of our founding fathers and our resilience as Americans. Now, Bin Laden is dead and al Qaeda is on the run.
The brave passengers of Flight 93 who launched the first counter-attack on terrorism proved that we would not succumb to their threats. We were humbled by their courage, and their sacrifice helped us to unite under our common bonds of citizenship, freedom and liberty that make our country great.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all who were lost that fateful day. Our prayers of support and gratitude go out to all the first responders and brave men and women in uniform who are on the front lines everyday protecting our nation from the threat of terrorism.
