I suppose I could be more underwhelmed by the GOP’s desperate need to make some sort of conspiracy stick against the President. But, you know, there is that whole history of hyperbolic and increasingly bizarre and ridiculous conspiracies fomented by people who make me sincerely hope that we are alone in the universe, because being associated with anti-Obama conspiracy nuts even just because we inhabit the same planet is just humiliating.

Shame on anyone who sweeps this pathetic response from obama under the rug. Every day we learn more about the many requests for additional security that were refused. They were litterally begging for security and were denied. Then during the attack we know that several requests for help were denied. Then to top it off we have the lies told by this pathetic admin that it was just a few protestors, when they knew within hours it was a coordinated terror attack. Screw you obama.

Roooth, what is wrong with the media reporting this story and letting the American people decide what is bizarre and ridiculous? You don’t need a conspiracy to account for the fact that for the first time in 30 years an American ambassador was murdered and the President and his staff had no knowledge of his whereabouts for seven hours.Any real leader would have had a Press Conference by now ; Obama is terrified by unscripted questions and has no answers. How many Americans were killed at the Bay of Pigs? At least JFK had the guts to admit a F— up.

Somebody should ask Barack Obama if he thinks the Navy SEALS who disobeyed orders to help our diplomats in Libya should be court-marshaled if they were still alive.

When the SEALS were called to kill OBL, they replied. When they fought their guts out in Benghazi they were denied. It has been reported thhat when the terrorist went to clean up the embassy massacre, they were thoroughly pissed that 2 Americans killed 89 of their scum brothers. We are talking something along the lines of the Alamo!
BTW, the video that Bamster and Hillery claimed caused this was only viewed 17 times the day before the attack. No wonder she is lawyering up per Bill Clinton.

So finally, after all this time, what 7 weeks, respectable David Ignatius is asking some questions. Seems just like yesterday, September 12th or so, Mr. Ignatius and David Kirkpatrick of the NYT were interviewed by Charlie Rose. Mr. Ignatius seemed very focused and bothered by Mitt Romney’s response. Sorry, the election is next Tuesday, and foreign policy reporters and columnists did what they did during those 7 weeks. Whatever they question or report now, is too late for the truth to be given a fair hearing. After all, we need to wait for the “rigorous investigation” after being spoonfed a “spontaneous attack”.

We have things called air bases with drones and jets that can be launched within minutes. Remember, those things you scolded Romney about. How can we use drones to kill terrorists in Pakistan and Yemen and not use them to kill them when they are attacking our embassy? And how can you sir, the Commander in Chief, go on a campaign swing the very next morning after these 4 souls were brutally murdered? You are an incompetent leader at best adn should resign. The more I learn about what happened in Libya the more angry I become. I listened to the interview with formed Navy Seal Tryone Wood’s father and it is heart breaking. I have my political views and have my political opinions, but this is beyond politics, the Commander and Chief has a responsibility to all serving our country around the country. You never leave your people behind. To sit around for 7 hours doing nothing while watching a US embassy getting attacked is unforgivable. To refuse 3 separate request for help from those in harms ways is a failure in leadership. To then take the facts and try to cover it up is the act of a coward. It was easy for Obama to make the call to send the Seals to get Osama, but when Seals asked for help Obama turned his back.

The President says he gave an order that evening to do whatever it took to secure our personnel. Either someone disobeyed that order or the president is lying. Either way it’s a big hairy deal. A terrorist attack happened on 9-11 and Americans were killed. They had prior knowledge that an attack was imminent, and predicted, and anticipated. Pleas for extra security were denied. They took no measures to head off the attack. When cries for help came during the 7 hour battle, they were ignored. They attempted to pass this off as a spontaneous demonstration that got out of control, knowing all the time that this was a planned assault on the embassy. They found a scapegoat and jailed him .

Look on the bright side, folks: Obama is defeated Nov 6; the Senate Select Committee starts investigating Nov 15; “invitations” go out to Obama, Biden, H Clinton, Pineta, et al, to testify under oath shortly after Romney takes office Jan 20 2013. 2. Clearly, the white house knew in real time, why didn’t they send support? If the ambassador was the President we would have had an entire division on site within 8 hours, let alone a QRF team within two hours.

A story this large, where a US citizen died as a direct result of incompetence by our government and then covered up by lying to the US citizens, has not happened since, say . . . Fast and Furious. Simple questions that should be asked:

Ms. Lamb testified under oath to congress that she was watching the attack in “real time” and now the Whitehouse says they were not, which is it. Is the State Department more sophisticated that the situation room?

At what time did the President issue his order, as he has said, “To do everything possible to help, with all resources” and who did he give that order to? What was their response?

If reports to the Whitehouse from Benghazi prior to the attack stated that al Qaeda was building in the area, and almost immediately after the attack, some officials said that it was a terrorist attack, why did the President, Ms. Rice and Hillary Clinton, for almost two weeks, continue to blame a video?

If the president , as he has stated himself, ordered an increase in security at all diplomatic locations worldwide, how was CNN and now ABC able to enter the burned out consulate and retrieve scattered documents, some sensitive and the personal journal of the Ambassador?

Who, if the Commander in Chief gave a direct order to help, did not carry out that order and why?

It took months to gather all 9/11 facts. What exactly are the concrete facts anyone has to prove wrong doing on this story? Not theory, or conspiracies, or speculation, but FACTS

There’s two news agencies that have some seriously damning information on this they are sitting on until after the election or at least as long as possible until then. There’s more than just a couple of cables saying that Al Quaida was building up presence around are and that the Embassy could no longer hold off a second attack after the first bombing before the major attack. The Obama Administration denied help leading up to and kept denying help after the attack happened. We know the Turkish gvt met with our Diplomats the same day just hours before the attack. We know about the Fast and Furious gun running to Islamic militants in Syria. We know two high level Military leaders whom decided to disregard the Stand Down and acted to help, but were relieved of command, taken into custody and sent back to the US. We know the Seals that called in for support were heard in DC and in the theater of operations and gave up their lives waiting for support to come that was denied to them. We know the whole situation was alerted to the President and was watched and that orders were given to allow the attacks and killings to go without support. We also know there were drones broadcasting the live events back to the White House and DOD. We know the president was involved in allowing this terrorist attack to happen with full knowledge. Still, when Obama, whom controlled the situation and called the shots was asked, what he did, he says there’s an investigation going on to figure that out. WTF? What did you do? Why can’t he answer what he did? Why is he waiting for an investigation to figure out what the hell he did? Doesn’t he know? How could he not? Was he in Choom King mode again? Is that why he went to bed while the attack continued? This is not even close to be a closed story. It’s huge!

The main reporting from on the ground at the time of the attack still holds – that the attackers stated they were incensed at the video and inspired by the riots in Cairo.

This is definitely huge! When I heard last Friday that the calls came in for help and were ignored I had tears in my eyes. These guys saved approximately 30 people! I’m a screenwriter and I already see the movie! Bigger than Black Hawk Down, All the President’s Men, ARGO, and any Bin Laden movie! What heroes – leaving no one behind. Now we learn that not only were the drones unarmed and running low on gas, but that the Libyan “police” had been infiltrated by the enemy. Imagine what these heroes must have been thinking? Most of the question revolves around what the president said and did during the 7 hours the Americans were waiting for help. No investigation is required for the president to tell the American people what he said and did; and he can do that any time – and the investigation can go on independently. There are other American Ambassadors and personnel in the mideast that might benefit from a speedier investigation.

What if it turns out that the president talked to certain people but doesn’t want to throw anyone under the bus until he knows the full story. For example, the admin gave out talking points they received from Petraeus and that turned out to be inaccurate, but Obama didn’t throw Petraeus or intelligence under the bus. The White House has said they didn’t deny any requests for assistance. Period. Moreover, they have said what the entire government did – the White House, State Department, Intelligence Community, Department of Defense included – was to work to mobilize all available assets and move them into the region as quickly as possible. It has been reported that there were some delays due to Libya militia. I don’t know. I don’t know what happened but what if it turns out there is a good reason for the way the administration is handling this. Police departments don’t tell you everything prematurely, typically for a reason. I get that right wingers don’t trust Obama, but I don’t trust the bs-meter of Republicans given Reagan, W, and Romney. Who was that fake that Fox promoted against ACORN and then it turned out his tapes were edited and he engaged in all kinds of illegal activities?

Most people experienced with these type of events and tragedies– CIA analysts, generals, former secretaries of state– are saying not to jump to conclusions and to wait for the investigations.

The latest data about Benghazi is an email from the Consulate saying they could not defend the building fi attacked. The Special Response team never assembled because somebody told them to stand down. It is clear that Obama was more interested in campaigning than protecting the Ambassador. He is a criminal, fraud and incompetent power hungry fool. He must be thrown out of office. He has been exposed for exactly who he is.

Obama spiked the ball when he should have kept his eye on the ball. Out of all the days in the year… out of all of the days… common sense dictates that you amp up security on 9/11. Especially, on American interests abroad. Libya – According to Amb. Steven’s own diary he was worried that he was on a “hit list.” The consulate was attacked twice before 9/11. We now know that Lt. Col. Andrew Wood (Special Ops) requested more security. Eric Nordstrom went on record stating security was inadequate… requested more… and was consistently turned down. He even went so far to describe the bureaucracy within the President’s State Department as the “Taliban.” We also now know that the fallen SEALs soldier, Tyrone Woods, was denied backup at the Annex while he was painting the source of the mortar fire with a laser designator. Why weren’t AC-130s sent? The fire fight lasted seven hours… SEVEN HOURS.
Where’s all this transparency that Obama promised? Release the audio and video to the Benghazi attack. My bet is that Obama won’t release them because a now deceased CIA-SAD operator (former SEAL) would be heard screaming for backup for seven hours. That operator was Tyrone Woods.

When are journalists in this country going to wake up and do their jobs? Are you all really either that terrified of this administration or still that mesmerized by them? Wake up! My Marine son is appalled that this story is getting as little coverage as possible. Shame on all of you!

Wake up America!! The President and the White House clearly lied about Benghazi and are trying to cover up what happened. Even a casual observer can see all of the contradictions in the White House story.

Seven weeks after the incident and no breakthrough in investigation?!! Anybody with a brain can smell something fishy, except the brain dead!!

This attack happened on Sept 11. Precautions were surely being taken at plenty of locations, simply because of the date. It’s ludicrous to believe US airlines were being more secure but our own US military was not. Not nearly enough precaution was taken at Benghazi, obviously, and that was an ENORMOUS error, but WHY was that error made?

We’ll never really know.

The reason we’ll never know is that the problems lie with intelligence and the military Ignatius can ask all he wants, but the government can’t reveal everything intelligence knew nor where the military was stationed at the time. I don’t want hostile foreign groups knowing where the US places troops on Sept 11th, do you?

As for people claiming no one has reported on this story, I’m left scratching my head about that. A quick search for news will show dozens of outlets reporting on this for weeks. Just look at the Wikipedia article’s sources: Fox, CNN, Associated Press, UPI, NBC, Reuters and The Washington Post, plus foreign reports from Guardian, Daily Mail, Al Jazeera. And guys, ABC has reported on this before, you can just do a search on this site to see for yourself. Or read the article, it’s right about breaking some news on the story in the past.

Anyone who says no one has been reporting on this is LYING. They’re just trying to make it seem like the “liberal media” is hiding a huge scandal to help Obama. Fox News is pushing this Benghazi news while pretending Hurricane Sandy didn’t happen, which is unbelievably partisan, and which trivializes everyone who was hurt or killed in both Benghazi and Sandy, by turning into a pathetic last-ditch effort to hurt Obama so he will not win re-election.

According to the timeline given to David Ignatius at the Washington Post by the CIA,
“11:11 p.m.: An unarmed military Predator drone arrives over the compound to provide aerial reconnaissance.” .
I thought the function of the Predator was to provide real-time video. It’s not credible that the President wouldn’t have access to that video in real-time. Why are we getting different stories from the different agencies involved?

I have a high school junior interested in the foreign service and a college freshman in Army ROTC. Do you think we will know what happened by the time they graduate so they can decide if their country will back them should they both serve overseas?

You wanna know something about Bush and 9/11 my friend? For the 1st month or so Americans were behind the President. Because, ya know, that is what rationale American Patriots do in the face of tragedy. We don’t exploit, we come together. Are you saying we had all the facts from 9/11 within 2 months? There is absolutely enough proof that President Obama and his state dept and administration did not handle the Benghazi attack in a responsible manner. They have blamed. They have lied. Speaking of Afghanistan, there’s a story for a whistleblower/journalist if there ever was one, someone needs to check on the safety of our troops in Afghanistan the MSM hasn’t been reporting on several dangerous incidents involving attacks and deaths and of course the administration does not want us to know. What original investigation has ABC done? As I recall, none. By original investigation, I mean reporting as it has been done for generation where reporters put shoe leather on the streets, find people, question them, and report the answers. Apparently, ABC has no reporters.

None of us know enough details to make a judgement, but in this voter’s eyes it’s either:

I have often appreciated your persistence in asking the President questions he would prefer not to answer. Here’s hoping you have sufficient moral fiber to at least be mildly embarassed for carrying his water when there’s no evidence of his interest in anyone other than himself as he deliberately abandoned theses Americans to die.

Obama’s first election could be compared to the marketing program of a prototype automobile that gets a whole bunch of hype, but is not yet available for a test drive. The initial offering results in a huge number of pre-sales. Everyone wants to get in on the action. They want to be a part of the “cool” crowd and the first on their block to have that revolutionary new car. What happens when the new prototype car is delivered and the public finds out it only makes left turns and the wheels fall off of it soon after the break-in period. The maintenance cost is sky high and the warranty is non-existent. That is what Obama will face in this election. An electorate that no longer has to listen to the hype and can look at the results of the test drive. The Obama experiment has proven to be a dismal failure.

FACT 1. – Our embassy in Benghazi is attacked on September 11, 2012 resulting in 4 American deaths, including the Ambassador. There had been a previous attack a couple weeks before which blew a hole in our embassy’s wall.

Fact 2. – testimony before the Senate that the CIA and State Department knew in less than an hour that the attack was a terrorist attack.

FACT 3. – President spoke in the Rose Garden several days AFTER the attack on our embassy blaming the attack on a film posted on You Tube and a demonstration that got out of hand. He mentions that American does not tolerate hate and terrorism – seemingly linking the phrase to the film maker.

FACT 4. – 5 days after the attack, the US Ambassador to the UN in a speech before the Assembly blames the attack on demonstrators and the You Tube posted film. (unless the Administration is completely incompetent or the UN Ambassador went rogue, every word uttered by the Ambassador in such a speech would be approved by the White House.)

Question – Why did the Administration feel the need to mislead the American People and the world?
Question – If the President truly did not know personally that it was a terrorist attack until more than a week after the event – why was he not informed?
Question – If e-mails and cables were going back and forth for several weeks between the embassy and the State Department (Hillery Clinton’s office) regarding lack of security at the embassy and requesting additional security personnel, why did Hillery’s office refuse the request?
Question – If the Paris, France embassy deserves a security force of US Marines – why would the State Department not feel the embassy in Benghazi Libya on September 11 (of ALL DAYS) should have increased security?
Question – Why will the press not follow a story of such national importance? Why does the press feel the need to be in bed with politicians? Why will the national press not see that the reason that they are losing subscribers and audience share is the lack of “journalism” in their product and the over the top blatant cheer-leading for their personal views.

We lose control of our government when we the voters are not informed because the press refuses to do its job.

We are hiring a Commander in Chief on Tuesday. I as an American citizen who has her only son serving in the Army under who ever that is for the next 4 years would like President Obama to answer some very serious questions regarding the incompetence of his administrations handling of this tragedy or worse possible treason. Why is no one asking what the Ambassador was doing in Benghazi? What were the CIA doing? Rumor has it they were arming the AQ affiliates funneling the weapons thru Turkey to take down Assad. Don’t we have a RIGHT to know this before voting? Last time I checked it is TREASON to arm America’s sworn enemies, like AQ? I am giving America my only son to fight its wars, I deserve to know what the Commander in Chief is doing and so does the rest of America and most definitely so do the families of those murdered on 9-11-12 in service to their country. And we deserve to know why his entire Administration lied to the American people and blamed some idiot whose video only had 17 views before they started blaming him. Why did they LIE? Why don’t you ask Jay Carney who instructed him to blame the video and why? Either they thought it was a spontaneous reaction or they were, “informed about the attack on the diplomatic outpost in Benghazi at roughly 5pm.” It can’t be both.

The media has participated too long in this lie of omission. It is criminal.

The attacks in Benghazi had been going on for 3 hours when Leon Panetta arrived at the White House for a scheduled meeting with Mr Obama. Is it possible they met without discussing what to do in response to the attacks and calls for security from Ambassador Stevens and what was left of his security team or talking about it at all? No, it is not possible. Decisions were made and calls for help routed through State and DOD were met with replies of “stand down.” 4 hours later Chris Stevens was dead and the aircraft requested by the CIA people who did respond arrived just in time to remove the bodies of 4 dead Americans.

Bill Clinton looked the country in the eye and lied about his encounters with an intern in the Oral Office. Now we have an effort to protect BHO from a decision he made to not defend an American embassy and the people who worked there on behalf of their country. It’s a matter of character and the thin-skinned nature of this president when called to account for anything.

Obama is Richard Nixon on steroids. People didn’t die in Watergate and the news was all over it relentlessly. In Benghazi 4 Americans are dead and the media is MIA – in fact, the media is actively trying to cover for Obama compared to a media who was more than willing to skewer Nixon during Watergate.

And again, nobody died in Watergate.

Applying spin and denial are expected with regard to timelines and actions in Libya. I’ve said from the beginning this was going to be big and it will; either before or after the election. They may try to summon up excuses but there is no denying that this president went on entertainment shows and spoke over and over again about that stupid video. No competent executive would have done so and put more Americans at risk. This guy did; he deserves to be fired for this if nothing else…but there is so much more.

I don’t know about you all but I am SICK of be lied to by Obama and his cast of characters. Is he uncertain of how he reacted and what his response was? He won’t even answer that question. It’s like Nancy Pelosi saying “we have to pass the bill to see what’s in it”…Obama is saying “re-elect me if you want to know the truth about Benghazi”. It’s disgusting.

I don’t think this is so much about some conspiracy as it is about the lies from the Obama administration in the aftermath and the complete failure to make efforts to protect against this attack prior to it occurring. What’s really ashame is that the bravery of the Americans who gave their lives on September 11th has gone largely unnoticed because the media by and large has consciously elected not to give this story the attention it deserves.

Im glad this story was written but ABC, NBC, and CBS all need to be held accountable for their clear attempt to bury this story. BOYCOTT their sponsors.

If the Benghazi incident has taught us anything, it is how incredibly lacking in curiosity and understanding the American people are. We shouldn’t have to let the media set the priority of a story in order to recognize that it is substantive and has dire implications. During the Bush II era, I watched in near amusement as the relatively innocuous “outing” of CIA operative Plame led the a near constant drumbeat by the press of some major scandal. The story itself was small potatoes, but the media convinced the American people that it was earth-shattering, perhaps worthy of the ouster of a President. Now we sit on a situation in which gross negligence, and worse yet, election-year miscalculating by an administration, led to the deaths of 4 Americans…and the crickets are chirping in the mainstream media…

THIS IS THE MOST TRANSPARENT ADMINISTRATION?

Dead heroes cant come back and tell the truth… Obama and his administration are guilty of an obscene abomination, using the dead men as pawns to fabricate a narrative of this event that cannot be proven one way or the other. Instead the mountain of evidence in fact points to the Obama administration has having been requested numerous times to send help and the mountain of evidence indicates that the CIA operatives in the safe house were told to stand down THREE TIMES… If this is not true then there should be a REAL set of emails and call logs going back and forth that will tell the story.
So… WHERE ARE THEY? WHERE are the logs and emails asking for immediate assistance and the responses from the White House saying that help is coming as soon as possible? WHY would those remain hidden to this point in such a vitriolic campaign atmosphere where revealing such documents indicating the President was actively working on getting assets to the region would not only help him but perhaps clinch a re-election? The reason the documents are not provided is… THEY DONT EXIST!!!!

The only thing I can add at this time is that it is absolutely disgusting that ABC,CBS and NBC”S news medias no longer have journalists or reporters. They only have individuals professing their opinions as fact. If Pres. Bush was involved in this mess it would have been front and center and probably would have gotten more coverage than Caycee Anthony which is saying a lot because we were inundated with that news for months on end. A vote for Obama is a vote for assured gridlock for 4 years In DC. On the one hand that’s good Obama won’t be able to harm our democracy any more than he already has. Its not good that nothing will happen for the next 4 years.
