"Theel" was a variant spelling of this lightweight boxer's name, occasionally used by newspapers during the period, but he is listed at BoxRec as Joe Thiel, with the aka Young Thiel. Based in Philadelphia, he retired from the ring in 1914 after nearly a hundred professional bouts, with 65 wins, 14 losses, and 17 draws.
