Aug 30, 2012 Issues: Congressional Issues

NEW IBERIA, LA - Congressman Jeff Landry (R, LA-03) issued the following statement after disaster declarations were made for Ascension, Assumption, Iberia, Jefferson, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Terrebonne Parishes:

“The State of Louisiana and our coastal parishes continue to incur enormous costs combating Hurricane Isaac. I am relived the President has agreed to the Governor's request and will provide financial assistance to our state and coastal parishes. I hope this is an indication that the President will quickly approve forthcoming assistance requests for the millions of Louisiana residents who have been impacted by this storm. As we have done before and during the storm, my office will continue to work with local and state officials and give them any support we can provide. We will continue to work closely with FEMA, the Corps, and the Coast Guard as the operations continue to alleviate flooding and assess damages. And my office stands ready to assist all constituents who have been affected by Hurricane Isaac."
