Energy and Environment
Paul is considered a leader in Congress on energy policy given his background as an engineer as well as his experience in New York State – both at NYSERDA and as the Chair of the New York State Assembly Energy Committee. He believes in an “all of the above” strategy for domestic energy production, but he knows that drilling for oil and gas alone will never meet America’s energy needs. That is why Paul has promoted policies that invest in clean energy and local small businesses as well as energy efficiency. America is in a global race on clean energy, just as we were during the Space Race with Sputnik. We must compete to win – the stakes are simply too high to come in second place.
