The event was held at the Shoprite in Albany and served not just as a forum to speak with Congressman Tonko but also to help promote healthy nutrition.
During the first hour the Congressman toured the store and afterwards he spent time speaking with employees and locals who came out to vocalize their problems and concerns.
"People are bringing concerns to our attention. They can be personal issues that they're hoping we can help resolve or just a broader conversation on issues of the day," said Congressman Tonko about the issues discussed.
Congressman Tonko said the people he spoke with were very interactive and he feels the connection he makes by doing these events is of the utmost importance.
