Ignacy Jan Padereski, Polish composer and diplomat; his wikipedia entry:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignacy_Jan_Paderewski
That must be his second wife (the first died in 1881); her name was Helena Paderewska, before that Helena Górska, Baroness de Rosen. The couple came to the US to build support for Polish independence, and to give fundraising concerts. Helena died in Switzerland in 1974.

This is likely from April 15, 1915
"Ignace Jan Paderewski, the Polish pianist, arrived yesterday from London on the White Star liner Adriatic on his way to San Francisco to ask President Charles C. Moore of the Panama-Pacific Exposition to give one day for the benefit of the 10,000,000 homeless people in Poland who are facing death by starvation. His hair was longer and his face much sadder than when he last appeared in New York two years ago."
