Rangel Congratulates President Obama And Newly-Elected Members Of The New York Congressional Delegation

New York, NY – Congressman Charles B. Rangel released the following statement after Election Day, November 6, 2012:

“I thank my constituents and am honored that I will be able to continue to work with President Barack Obama in the 113th Congress as we keep moving our country forward. We still have many challenges ahead of us but I am confident that America will become stronger under his second term. Now that the elections are over, I look forward to returning to a productive session in Congress to deal with unresolved issues ranging from taxes to defense to Medicare.

As the Dean of the New York Congressional Delegation, I am also proud to congratulate newly-elected Representatives Grace Meng, Daniel Maffei, Sean Maloney, Hakeem Jeffries, and Chris Collins. Grace Meng made history as the first Asian American to represent the people of New York in Congress and I am confident that she will serve her constituents as well as my dear friend and colleague, Gary Ackerman, has done. I look forward to welcoming these new Members to Congress as we have much work to do to rebuild and strengthen our great City and State of New York."
