Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Steve Austria (OH-7) joined his colleagues in the Ohio delegation to send a letter to Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Steven Chu urging him to complete USEC’s application for a loan guarantee to construct the American Centrifuge Project’s uranium enrichment plant in Piketon, Ohio.

             “The American Centrifuge Project is not looking for a handout, but for an opportunity to expand on their expertise in uranium enrichment, leading our nation to greater energy security, and helping a community in dire need of economic development,” Congressman Austria said. “I stand with my colleagues in the Ohio delegation in asking Secretary Chu to give this project swift and serious consideration.”
