Election Poll Sites Relocated Due To Sandy Damage

As the presidential candidates race through their final weekend of campaigning, the city Board of Elections announced Sunday that numerous poll sites are moving or combining across the five boroughs, in part due to storm damage.

Relocated City Polling Sites

See which city polling sites are relocated for Tuesday's election.

Some of those polling places were damaged by the storm, while others are still being used as emergency shelters.

New Yorkers who want to know up-to-date voting locations for Election Day are asked to text "NYCVOTES" to 877-877. Spanish speakers can text "DONDE" to 877-877 for information in Spanish.

All poll sites will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the deadline to request an absentee ballot was Friday.

All absentee ballots need to be postmarked by Monday.

Any New Yorkers who cannot go to their polling places are allowed to go to the Board of Election's office in their borough and file an absentee ballot until 5 p.m. Monday.

Those locations are:
Bronx: 1780 Grand Concourse, 5th floor
Brooklyn: 345 Adams Street, 4th floor
Manhattan 450 West 33rd Street, 10th floor (temporary BOE office)
Queens: 126-06 Queens Boulevard, Kew Gardens
Staten Island: 1 Edgewater Plaza, 4th floor

BOE officials are trying to get the governor's office to provide shuttle buses for voters who have to travel "more than usual" to their polling place, but it is not yet clear if that can happen.

It is the home stretch in the race for the White House, and President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney are making their closing arguments with less than two days until Election Day.

The New York Daily News endorsed Romney on Sunday despite having backed Obama in 2008. While acknowledging that Obama inherited an economic "disaster," the editorial says Obama has "built a record of miscalculations and missed opportunities."

The paper praises Romney's plans for creating jobs, reforming the tax code, and revamping Medicare, but also says he's not a perfect candidate when it comes to issues like immigration and gun control.

Obama has rallies in New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio and Colorado on Sunday, while Romney is making stops in Iowa, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Romney told voters the president has promised change, but could not deliver.

More than 27 million early ballots have been cast so far.

Results show the the president leading in several swing states, including Ohio, Florida and Iowa.
