Profiteering refers to taking advantage of unusual or exceptional circumstances to make excessive profits. Romney and his wife, Ann allegedly made millions from the auto bailout through their investments in the hedge fund Elliott Management, which held a stake in the auto bailout recipient Delphi Automotive, the former GM auto parts division. The returns on this investment were astronomical — more than 3,000 percent on their investment," The Nation Magazine said in an investigative article last month.

The United Automobile Workers, or UAW, announced that it is calling upon the Office of Government Ethics to investigate Romney for alleged noncompliance with the Ethics in Government Act. They also want that authority to force the nominee to either "disclose his investments or divest them." The UAW has been joined by liberal watchdog groups such as Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, People for the American Way and The Social Equity Group, among others in the letter of complaint.

  • Today is November the sixth and not a word has been said about this in the mainstream media. Has a clamp been put on this revelation by someone or some group to keep it out of the news. Not even Yahoo has anything on it. I have written several comments about it to no avail they get buried by yahoo and only one or two will give a thumbs up or down and then poof it's gone.
