Help Send Royers’ Pies to Sandy Victims

Royers' Famous Chocolate Chip Pie

Bud Royers and all the great folks at Royers Round Top Café are known for the big hearts.  Each year they send countless pies over to our brave military folks serving overseas.

Bud’s big heart is at it again.  He and his team are coming together to help the victims of Super Storm Sandy piece together some sort of a Thanksgiving celebration.  Afterall, what would Thanksgiving be without pies!

Bud got the CEO of the Dallas Market Center, Bill Winsor, to underwrite the $15,000 cost of getting 650 of Royers’ handmade pies—enough to serve 5000–delivered to the east coast victims.

Bud and a friend on Sunday are personally driving the pies to the storm ravaged area.  Bud’s wife and others will meet them there to get the pies to the relief kitchens already on the ground.  In all, they calculate 5-7 stops between  the Jersey shore, Staten Island and Rockaway.

Wanna help?  They’d love to take cash gift cards from Walmart, Lowes or Home Depot to give out at the shelters where they’ll be delivering the pies.  Here’s the link if you’d like to help…

BTW, I have the recipe for Royers’ Famous Chocolate Chip Pie on Goodtaste.tv.  While you’re there, be sure to sign up for my newsletter for a chance to win a Gourmet Getaway to NYC on Southwest Airlines complete with a 4 night stay at the luxurious Sherry Netherland Hotel.
