Rehberg Statement on Keystone XL Pipeline Vote

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement after his vote in the U.S. House to pass the North American-Made Energy Security Act (H.R. 1938).  The legislation directs the President to expedite the consideration and approval of the construction and operation of the Keystone XL oil pipeline.

“For the foreseeable future, Montanans are going to need oil and that means we need a way to transport it safely.  While there’s no perfect technology – and despite recent pipeline-related events in Montana – pipelines provide for safe and clean transportation of our domestic energy.  Building the Keystone XL Pipeline isn’t about politics or Party.  In fact, this plan has strong support from both sides of the aisle.  This vote is about creating jobs, protecting the environment and stemming the rising costs of energy.”
