Just finished a tour of the Eastern Oregon Light and Power hydropower plant in Haines. We need an "all of the above" energy strategy-- including renewable hydropower--that supports jobs and creates clean, affordable energy. This week, the House passed a bipartisan bill (H.R. 5892) with my support to help facilitate new hydropower projects like this one by reducing red tape and streamlining the permitting process. According to the National Hydropower Association, new hydropower development has the potential to create 700,000 jobs nationwide by 2025. | Album:Timeline Photos Shared with:Public |
