(Lone Tree, CO) U.S. Representative Mike Coffman is currently accepting applications for the Class of 2017 -- which will begin classes in 2013 -- for the U.S. Air Force Academy, U. S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.   The application process will determine which applicants receive a Congressional Nomination to attend a U.S. Service Academy.  

This highly competitive nomination process is open to all students entering their senior year of high school, or anyone up to age 23.  Applicants must live in the current 6th Congressional District (go to www.coffman.house.gov for a map).   If your interest is the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, you must apply directly to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

All students, with a completed application file, will be invited to an interview, as part of the application process, in early November.   A final list of students selected to receive a Congressional Nomination will be announced in mid- December 2012.
