Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Mike Pence congratulated Honda and the city of Greensburg for the announcement that Honda will be hiring approximately 300 new production associates later this year and invest $40 million to increase its annual production capacity.

"Honda's jobs announcement today is very good news for the people of Greensburg," said Pence. "I want to congratulate Honda and Greensburg on this expansion. Honda's decision shows that Hoosiers continue to be among the best workers in the world and that Indiana is a great place to do business."

Background from Honda:
• The 300 new jobs will support existing processes in virtually every major area, including stamping, welding, painting, plastic injection molding, sub-assembly and final assembly operations.
• Honda Manufacturing Indiana, LLC (HMIN) in Greensburg, Ind., became Honda's fourth auto plant in the U.S. and its seventh in North America when it began production of Civic Sedans in October 2008. Employment exceeds 2,000 associates and capital investment exceeds $800 million.
• Honda will increase its annual production capacity in Greensburg by 50,000 units to a total of 250,000 vehicles.
