HOW TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL DISASTER ASSISTANCE:
Individuals, businesses, non-profits, and municipalities in Fairfield, Middlesex, New Haven and New London counties who suffered damage as a result of Storm Sandy may be eligible for federal disaster assistance.

HOW TO HELP:
Volunteering: The Connecticut Red Cross is asking interested volunteers to email ctvol@ctredcross.org with their phone number and email address. The Red Cross will then contact them with further information about how they can help out.
Blood Donations: The Red Cross is reporting a shortfall of more than 7,000 blood donations in the Northeast. To find the location closest to your home if you're interested in donating blood, please call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
Monetary Donations: The United Way has created a Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund to address the near-term and long-term recovery needs of individuals, families and communities along the Eastern Seaboard that were impacted by Hurricane Sandy’s devastation.

CONSUMER PROTECTION
Reports of suspected profiteering or unconscionably excessive pricing of gasoline or other fuels can be made to the Department of Consumer Protection by emailing dcp.foodandstandards@ct.gov. Please include the business name, its location, and the prices you observed. Reports can also be made to the Department’s Hotline at 1-800-842 2649 and at 860-713-6160.
LABOR INFORMATION
The CT Department of Labor has extended their TeleBenefits filing hours until 6pm on Wednesday (October 31), Thursday (November 1) and Friday (November 2). Visit the Department of Labor's website for more information.
