On Native America Calling
For Monday: Starting Anew - For some Native lawbreakers that have served their time in jail, they have decided to turn their life around and help support their families and become better citizens. They're now trying to stay on the straight and narrow but, it's not always that easy if the community has rules that restrict former lawbreakers from getting ahead. Does having a shady past make it difficult for some ex-offenders? What about getting a job, applying for housing, or even getting a driver's license? The Yurok Tribe has developed a new program to help Natives wipe the slate clean and start again.
