PEARCE CO-HOSTS SEVENTH JOB FAIR

Aug 15, 2012 Issues: Economy and Jobs

Roswell, NM (August 15, 2012) Today, Congressman Steve Pearce co-hosted a job fair in Roswell.  More than 40 employers participated, seeking to fill over 500 jobs.

"Jobs continue to be my top priority" Pearce said.  "I will keep working to connect employers with future employees.  As with all the job fairs I participate in, it was exciting to be a part of bringing together employers and job seekers today.  Everywhere I go, New Mexican’s tell me that they need jobs, and employers tell me they need workers. This is my seventh job fair over the last 18 months, and I will continue holding them in our southern New Mexico communities.”

Congressman Pearce opened the job fair with a short presentation on the importance of jobs, and by cutting a ribbon, where he was joined by event co-sponsors from the City of Roswell, The Roswell Chamber of Commerce, New Mexico Department of Workforce and several local radio stations. Mr. Pearce spent much of the morning visiting with attendees and personally helping employers connect with job-seekers.

The Roswell job fair is the seventh that Mr. Pearce has sponsored. Job fairs have also been held in Las Cruces, Silver City, Alamogordo, and Los Lunas.  Additional job fairs are being planned and will be announced.

New Mexican’s are encouraged to sign up at http://pearce.house.gov/contact-me/job-fair-sign to receive job fair announcements.
