Tobacco Capitals - U.S. Capitol

    In an effort to Americanize classical orders, Benjamin Henry Latrobe chose to model the Corinthian column capitals shown here after tobacco leaves.

    These columns are located in the House Wing of the U.S. Capitol Building.
