Air Force Academy Cadets visit Westover.

A Westover C-5 Galaxy sits on the ramp at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, Jan 27 2013. The Patriot Wing traveled to Colorado Springs Jan. 24 to pick up twenty Air Force Academy cadets for a three-day tour of Westover in Chicopee, Mass., and Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Mass. SSgt. Chris Boutin

This 439th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, enlisted in 1999. "My father, who is now retired from active-duty Air Force, was a C-5 crew chief. The exposure to his career field influenced me to follow in his footsteps," SSgt. Boutin said. For three years, the sergeant was a "flying crew chief" and traveled worldwide. Housing Ceremony for New Fire Apparatus

Westovers Fire Department members "pushed in" their new Engine 7 vehicle on March 9, 2012. Part of the traditional housing ceremony includes having the firefighters push the new apparatus into the firehouse. Remembering the fallen

Airmen, soldiers, sailors and Marines from Westover read the names of fallen Sunderland, Mass., natives from the veteran's memorial wall in that town. The event was attended by 200 town residents, 170 of them elementary school children and teachers.
