We lead the world.
For over 115 years Zahner has pioneered the architectural metal industry by applying aerospace engineering to the fabrication of art and architecture. Zahner is internationally renowned for intelligent engineering and precision craftsmanship on buildings throughout the world. The museum-level craft and engineering that Zahner consistently provides can be found in the Americas, Europe, Asia & the Middle East.
The heart of our product beats at the intersection of art and function. Our Inverted Seam™ roofs are stunningly smooth planes of metal which catch, control, and divert 100% of precipitation even during the heaviest storms. We've developed, as part of our Zira™ Visualization System, metal sun-screens engineered to allow maximum light-entry with minimal temperature displacement. Our Hands of the Artist program gives artists access to our engineers and craftsmen, enabling any artist to produce elegant artworks whose quality matches that of the finest museums in the world. Our team is proud of the work we do, both large and small.
Zahner provides consultation, comprehensive design assist services, fabrication, and installation for art and architectural projects.

Featured Zahner Project
In 2011, Zahner completed the stainless steel cladding fabrication, production, and shipping for the Snohetta-designed National September 11th Memorial and Museum in lower Manhattan, New York City. The project features striped stainless steel surfaces, alternating between highly reflective semi-mirror panels and satin stainless steel panels.
In addition to these two alternating metals, the surface also features perforated stainless steel panels, which provide an airflow functionality as well as a visual element particular to the architect's design.
The sensitivity of the project resulted in a deduction of the Museum's size so as not to overshadow footprint of the World Trade Center. The Memorial Museum will house a collection of artifacts, photographs, audio, and videos relating to the WTC history as well as the events surrounding September 11th, 2001.
Zahner worked closely with the architects at Snohetta to develop the building envelope, the outer roof, and exterior facade of the building. The envelope both protects the interior environment, and facilitates climate control. The envelope is also responsible for the visual shape of the building.
The Memorial opened September 11th, 2011. The Museum is scheduled to open September 11th, 2012. Learn more about the fabricators who made the September 11th Museum in New York City.
