Marines and sailors of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training aboard SS Cape Avinoff on the James River at Fort Eustis, Va., Sept. 25, 2012. VBSS is the term for maritime boarding actions and tactics designed to capture enemy vessels, to combat terrorism, piracy and smuggling; and to conduct customs, safety and other inspections.
