Paid Internship Opportunity

In his capacity as member of the Joint Committee on the Library that has oversight over the Library of Congress, Congressman Dan Lungren is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for college students from the 3rd District of California. The Library of Congress—the largest library in the world and considered by many to be the most beautiful building in Washington—is offering a paid summer internship.

Summer interns, working with curators and the collections of the Library of Congress, will be exposed to a broad spectrum of library work: preservation, reference, access standards, information management, and the United States copyright system.

Although there is a regular application process through the Library of Congress, Congressman Lungren has been afforded the opportunity to nominate an undergraduate or graduate student.

To apply, follow the instructions at http://www.loc.gov/hr/jrfellows/about.html#process exactly except email the completed application (and letters of recommendation) to loc.internship@mail.house.gov This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , where a member of the Congressman's staff will review the application. The deadline for applications to Congressman Lungren's office is April 9.

Please be sure to forward this opportunity to friends and family who may know of someone who would be interested in this internship.  More information about the internship is available at http://www.loc.gov/hr/jrfellows/ .

If you have any questions, or if you are in need of assistance on another matter, please feel free to contact Congressman Lungren's District Office staff in Gold River at (916) 859-9906.
