Speaker John Boehner joined Congressional leaders, family members, and members of the Capitol community during a ceremony in memory of Private First Class Jacob Chestnut and Detective John Gibson at the U.S. Capitol. On July 24, 1998, Officer Jacob J. Chestnut and Detective John M. Gibson of the U.S. Capitol Police were killed in the line of duty defending the Capitol against an armed intruder.
