    "She was the first and only German capital ship to ever visit the United States. On May 11, 1912 she left Kiel, accompanied by light cruisers SMS Stettin and SMS Bremen, and arrived off Hampton Roads, Virginia, on May 30, 1912. After touring the East Coast for two weeks, she returned to Kiel on June 24."
