Congratulating the Baltic nations of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania on the 20th anniversary of the reestablishment of their full independence.

H.Con.Res. 267 is expected to be considered on the floor of the House on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, under a motion to suspend the rules, requiring a two-thirds majority vote for passage. The legislation was introduced by Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL) on April 26, 2010.

H.Con.Res. 267 would resolve that the House of Representatives:

• “Congratulates Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania on the 20th anniversary of the end of their illegal incorporation into the Soviet Union; and
• “Calls on the President to continue to build the close and mutually beneficial relations the United States has enjoyed with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania since the restoration of the full independence of those nations.”
