I'm thinking this is the Delegation from Pennsylvania at a republican convention in Chicago. Could be 1912, 1916, or 1920. I doubt it's 1908.

You're probably right. There are other pix in this set of the dem convention in Balto. and the Progressive/Bull Moose in Syracuse.

Okay, there is another photo at the following link:

Is it possible that it is the Oklahoma Delegation and Penn Del. were promenading?

These are the same two women in both photos, wearing the same outfits.

Good catch! The two women here and two of the men behind them are in the other picture as well. Chances are the Oklahomans are the ones on the left in the other picture, with the signs hanging from their jackets.

Could this photo and the other one have been taken at the Progressive Party ("Bull Moose") convention at the Coliseum in Chicago, in August, 1912? That convention was held in the same venue as the Republican Convention had been, in June. The date inscribed on the negative, in the lower right corner, appears to start with an "8" -- for August. A quarter of the delegates to the Progressives' convention were women (who were still denied the vote), and the convention nominated former President Theodore Roosevelt for President, and Governor Hiram Johnson of California for Vice President.
