The STTC Combat Medical Card Game has been deployed to joint service medical units operating in Haiti. The game is used for "hip pocket training" by combat medics during after duty hours and mission lulls. The game is used to "refresh" critical combat life saving skills by providing a lost-cost training aid that is easily distributed and transported into remote combat areas and austere operating areas in support of Army humanitarian missions.

As the sole providers of hot chow while units train in the field and labor in combat zones, food service specialists uphold a vital mission that helps set the foundation for success on the battlefield. Quite literally, they fuel the Army. A team of hard-charging food service Soldiers from Fort Hood's own 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade is certainly no exception to excellence when it comes to serving food. From March to November 2009, the team changed its pace a bit and dished up some stiff competition in the 42nd annual, Army-wide Phillip A. Connelly Competition for Excellence in Food Service. Gen. Charles Campbell, the commander of U.S. Army Forces Command, recognized the seven-man team of Soldiers Tuesday at III Corps' headquarters building for taking top honors at the FORSCOM level in June 2009 and finishing as the runner-up team for the Department of the Army just four months later.

They don't attract much public attention, and they're far less visible than the pilots and aircraft they support. But their mission is no less important. In fact, without them, those pilots wouldn't be able to fly their helicopters. They are the maintenance Soldiers of the Tennessee Army National Guard's Troop F, "Titans," 1st Squadron, 230th Air Cavalry Squadron, Task Force Wings. They handle all aviation intermediate maintenance for the 1/230th ACS, operating in northern Iraq from Forward Operating Bases Sykes, Warrior and Diamondback.
