Burr Ridge, IL – U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13) today toured Praxair’s Burr Ridge facility, where scientists conduct research and development related to food freezing technology, metal fabrication, and biopharmaceutical products.  With 26,000 employees in more than 50 countries, Praxair is a leader in refrigeration and food freezing processes, as well as one of the largest suppliers of industrial gases in North and South America.   Biggert met with Praxair’s Burr Ridge staff to discuss economic priorities for local high-tech businesses.
 
            “Thanks to companies like Praxair, our area is a hub for businesses that employ some of the best and brightest minds in the country,” said Biggert.  “These scientists, researchers, and engineers create breakthrough technologies that yield new jobs in a wide variety of industries.  To help promote this kind of innovation, I’m focused on reaching across the aisle to improve STEM education and put in place economic policies that will allow companies like Praxair to thrive.”
