Biggert Statement on Tenth Anniversary of September 11, 2001

Willowbrook, IL – U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th) today will join her House and Senate colleagues for a 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony on the front steps of the Capitol.  She issued the following statement:

“Today, we pay tribute to the innocent Americans whose lives were cut so brutally short ten years ago.  We honor their memories and pray for the families, that they may find strength in the knowledge that our entire nation shares in their tragic loss.  As we recall that fateful day, we also remember the heroism and sacrifices of ordinary citizens, emergency responders, and brave men and women in uniform who risked – and lost – their lives to protect others.  In their actions, they showed that nothing can shake our resolve, our courage, or our commitment to freedom.  Today’s ceremony reflects a nation that, no matter our differences, will always stand united against those who seek to attack our freedoms through violence and fear.”
