FORT STEWART, Ga. - A healthy relationship has trust, respect and communication. But for some relationships they can turn bad. For people that are in an unhealthy relationship sometimes do not even realize it and will mistaken the abuse for caring or concern. According to kidshealth.org, one in 11 students have reported being physically hurt by a date.

There are three different types of abuse. physical, mental, and sexual. Physical abuse is abuse involving contact intended to cause intimidation, injury, or physical suffering. Mental abuse is characterized by a person exposing another behavior that may result in physiological trauma. As for sexual abuse, it can happen to both sexes. Guy or girl. You should never be pressured to be in any type of sexual experience that you do not want. If you feel that you are having any of these problems within your relationship, make sure that you get out of it as quickly as you can.

If you are the one that is in an abusive relationship the first thing you need to do is get out.

Even if you feel that you love that person, you have to realize that you are worth much more than how you are being treated. Tell someone that you trust and avoid isolating yourself from friends and Family. You need there support and they are just the right people to help you get through this tough time.

Signs That Your Friend Is Being Abused
• Not hanging out with friends and Family
• Not wanting to go to school or social events
• Unexplained bruises or broken bones

A friend that is being abused needs your support and encouragement. Get help from an adult such as a parent, Family Member or even a teacher. Your friend needs you to listen without judging them. It takes a lot for them to admit that they are being abused so try to be as supportive as possible.

No matter how hard your situation may be, you can get through it. You are not the only person that has gone through it and you will not be the last. Take this as a life experience and use it to help other teens that may need your help.
