I love the epithet "The Girl on the Red Velvet Swing" from her trial testimony.

The notorious Red Velvet Swing was in one of Stanford White's apartments. According to trial testimony, White forced Evelyn Nesbit to sit naked in the swing, while he pushed it. Amazingly, Evelyn lived to be a consultant on the making of the Hollywood movie, The Girl In The Red Velvet Swing (1955).

There is a sketch of Evelyn Nesbit Thaw that people might enjoy on the front page of The evening world. (New York, N.Y.) 1887-1931, January 18, 1908, Final Results Edition.
