CATS  - awarded Outstanding Rural Transit System of the Year
We are honored that the NYSDOT would recognize our system with this honor.  We are truly grateful to all our riders for your patronage and in helping make this happen.

ADA Compliance
County Area Transit System (CATS) complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Anyone living within 3/4 mile of a fixed route can arrange to have a bus deviate off a fixed route to pick you up and/or drop you at a destination.

You must call the CATS office at least 24 hours in advance for this service at (585) 394-2250 or (800)667-CATS. You may call up to a week in advance for reservations. Weekend and Monday deviations must be called in by 3:00 pm on Friday. Route deviation fares are twice the fixed route fare and no discounts apply.

Persons with a Disability
If you are a person with a disability, you are entitled to a half-fare discount on all fixed routes. In order to receive your discount, you must display a CATS card or Medicare card. Half-fare applies only to fixed-route service. No discounts are given on Dial-a-Ride or route deviations. Lift-equipped buses are provided on fixed routes.

If you have any questions about how to obtain a CATS card, please call CATS at (585) 394-2250 or (800)667-CATS.

Senior Citizens
If you are 60 years of age or older, you can ride half-fare (50 cents) on all fixed routes. In order to receive your discount, you must display a CATS card or Medicare card. The discount applies only to fixed-route service.

Monthly Pass
Unlimited transportation on CATS can be yours for $30 per month. Ride all fixed-route CATS buses as many times as you wish for one low price within the month for which the pass is valid. Passes must be displayed each time you board and must remain in your possession for the entire trip.

Safety Tips
The bus driver's job is getting you safely to your destination. You can help by following these safety tips:
  • Be at the bus stop five minutes ahead of the scheduled time.
  • State your destination to the driver.
  • Take your seat as quickly as possible.
  • Never change seats while the bus is moving.
  • Never cross the street in front of a bus. Oncoming traffic might not stop.
  • Refrain from engaging in unnecessary conversation with the driver.
  • No pets are allowed except service animals.
