In combat you wouldn't even think of children being on a Forward Operating Base. However, on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan service members and civilians volunteer to teach Afghan children English, with the goal to make a difference. The program is called The Cat in the Hat Language Arts Center and is run soley on donations and by volunteers. The program was started less than a year ago and teaches Afghan children everything from the alphabet, to shapes and colors in English. More than 30 children attend the program on Sundays and Tuesdays for at least five hours a day. Soundbite from Capt Elizabeth Cantrell and Capt. John Green. Also available in high definition
