Rehberg Statement on Supreme Court Decision to Hear Challenges to President's Health Care Law

Washington, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement after the Supreme Court announced its decision to hear the case against the constitutionality of President Obama’s health care law.

"I stand with the majority of Montanans against the President’s takeover of our health care system.  Simply put, the law’s mandate to buy insurance is not popular with folks in Montana and may very well be found unconstitutional.  But that decision ultimately lies with the Supreme Court and we know the President and his allies in the Senate have been working hard for years to nominate and confirm sympathetic judges.   We also know the decision is likely to be close one way or the other.  It’s not an exaggeration to say the future of liberty in this great nation may very well rest on the Supreme Court doing the right thing and wiping this law off the books.  Once this happens we can get to work finding real solutions to make health care more affordable and accessible."
