WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement following the passing of Walter Breuning.

"With his frank talk, common sense values and zest for life, Walter Breuning was a true Montana original.  While most of us studied 20thcentury history in school, Walter lived it.  And given all of the important events that he had seen in his 114 years, all Montanans appreciated any opportunity to learn from his experiences and to hear his perspective.

"Jan and my condolences go out to his family and his friends at the Rainbow Senior Living retirement home, I’m sure they are deeply saddened by this loss.  But Walter’s wisdom and wit made a lasting impression on all who knew him, and that legacy will live on well into the future."
